Jockey Club Contemporary Art Literacy and Appreciation Programme
2020.11 - 2023.06
In this era where “every human being is an artist”, JCCALAP believes that “everyone can be a docent”. With holistic docent trainings, docent-led public tours, seminars, etc., JCCALAP aims to popularise the knowledges of contemporary art appreciation in Hong Kong.

The Multi-layered Relationship between Art & Architecture
2023.03.12
Art or structure, form or function comes first in architecture? Walk inside a large-scale sculpture, do we call it a work of art or architecture? Architect or artist coming from different positions may have different interpretation towards these issues. The relationship between architecture and art has always been complex. Since ancient Rome, architecture embraces systematic aesthetics, which has been deconstructed in the postmodern era. Is there still a need for aesthetics in modern architecture? And how do we define art and architecture now?
This dialogue between architecture professor and architect/artist will delve into the multi-layered relationship between architecture and art from ancient to modern and East to West.
